Celebrating the women behind Flagstone International

Celebrating the women behind Flagstone International

6 March 2026

To mark International Women’s Day, we invited several women from across Flagstone International to share reflections on their careers in fintech. They discuss the experiences that have shaped their paths, the skills they’ve developed along the way, and how working at Flagstone continues to support their professional growth.

Hayley Lippiatt - Client Director

“Which skills from earlier in your career have become most valuable at Flagstone International, and how can women leverage them to thrive in fintech?”

After spending several years building a broad skill set in the banking sector, I’ve found that those experiences are not only highly relevant but genuinely valued at Flagstone International. The fast paced, dynamic environment has given me opportunities to apply my skills in new and innovative ways, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see how they contribute to the team and drive meaningful outcomes.

One aspect that really stands out to me is how fintech is reshaping accessibility, particularly for women. There’s a clear shift towards greater inclusivity, making it easier than ever for women to enter, grow, and succeed in this industry. That said, while progress has been made, there’s still important work to do to ensure true equality and representation at every level.

Harriet Heaven - Partnership Associate

“Looking back, what would you tell your younger self about your career, knowing where your path into fintech has led?”

I would tell my younger self to stay true to who she is, trust her instincts, and have the confidence and self-belief to take risks when they feel right. Coming from large, traditional organisations, making the move to a smaller fintech during its early growth phase felt like a real leap at the time, but it’s been the best decision I’ve made in my career to date.

Every day, I’m inspired by the strong women around me: learning and growing alongside my manager and benefiting from her incredible knowledge, working with supportive colleagues at Flagstone International, and building meaningful relationships with women across our banking partners and fund managers. These are relationships I truly value and continue to learn from.

Helen Vieira - Head of Banks

“What does working in fintech mean to you, and how has your time at Flagstone shaped your career so far?”

For me, fintech is about imagining better ways of doing things, and then having the courage to build them. My time at Flagstone International has expanded my perspectives as a leader and reinforced how powerful innovation can be when you pair it with a strong, values driven team.

Sarah Carey - Head of People

“What’s one moment in your fintech career that made you feel particularly proud or confident in your abilities?”

Backing myself. I took a leap of faith and stepped into a role where I could bring the best of what I’d achieved, learn openly from what hadn’t gone to plan, and shape it into something new, untested, and genuinely authentic. On International Women’s Day, that moment feels especially meaningful. That leap didn’t just build my confidence; it reinforced the power of women creating, shaping, and leading for the future. And I’m hugely excited for what comes next.

Meegan Batchelor - Associate Client Director

“How has working in a fast-growing fintech like Flagstone International helped you grow professionally or personally?”

The growth of Flagstone International has pushed me to step outside my comfort zone in the best possible way. You’re trusted with responsibility early on, which has helped me grow both professionally and personally.

Together, these reflections highlight the breadth of experience, perspective, and expertise across the team at Flagstone International, and the role they play in shaping the company’s continued growth and innovation.
