We are seeking a confident and inspiring leader with a natural inclination for structure, planning, and hands-on direction. You are a strategic thinker who can translate business needs into a clear technical vision and a tangible roadmap.

Our current tooling includes Azure DevOps, Azure cloud infrastructure, .NET Core, React, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Power BI, and Salesforce. Experience with this stack is important, but we value a forward-thinking mindset. Part of your role will be to assess and evolve our toolchain as we grow. We are also keen to explore the potential of AI/LLM tools in our engineering practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams to deliver excellent products at speed and scale, preferably in a fintech or financial services environment.
- Strong background in designing processes and organisational structures that enable teams to excel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders and align them with a cohesive engineering vision.
- Expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native design (especially Azure), and modern software architecture.
- Experience with performance management, coaching, and mentoring to build a strong talent pipeline.
- A collaborative spirit, capable of working effectively across functions to achieve shared goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Set and implement the short-to-medium-term engineering strategy, contributing to the long-term product and technology vision.
- Team Empowerment: Lead, coach, and mentor the engineering team, fostering an environment of high performance, psychological safety, and continuous development.
- Technical Oversight: Oversee the scoping, design, implementation, and quality assurance of all software development. Manage the Microsoft Azure estate, ensuring security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Product Collaboration: Partner with the Head of Product to design, iterate, and deliver a compelling, market-leading solution for our clients.
- Process Excellence: Own the technology roadmap and ensure project management techniques are optimised for our software delivery lifecycle, including testing and QA.
- Culture Building: Act as an engineering ambassador, providing thought leadership and nurturing a vibrant engineering community, both internally and externally.
